Established in 2009, 2nd Skin Garment Industries buys used clothing from textile waste collectors, then grades and sorts it — good clothing shipped to under-developed countries, the rest supplied as raw material for recycling, with a specialism in wool and special fibres like cashmere.

2nd Skin Garment Industries buys used clothing from textile waste collectors — we're not collectors ourselves, we're the grading and sorting link in the chain. Every batch we buy is sorted by hand into two paths: clothing good enough to be reworn, and material best suited for recycling.
Good clothing is graded and shipped to under-developed countries, where it gets a genuine second life at an affordable price. What isn't fit for resale doesn't go to waste either — it's sorted and supplied as raw material for recycling.
We specialise in providing raw material for the recycling of wool and special fibres, including cashmere — fibres worth recovering properly rather than treating as generic waste.

The wool
Sheep are shorn every season, and a surprising amount of that wool goes unrecovered. We treat it as a fibre worth grading and channeling back into use, not a byproduct to discard.
